Fantastic! The small town feel is just what I needed. I got the breaded tenderloin basket, and everything was amazing. I even got a piece of pie to go.
Must go if you're looking for a great meal.
Darrell’s Place in Hamlin, IA is a great Mom & Pop place with great food. If it’s your first visit, do yourself a favor and go with their award winning Breaded Tenderloin Sandwich (the onion rings are pretty good too)
The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is that grandma’s kitchen, family gathering kind of vibe. If you’re going for lunch, go early because it gets busy!!!

Great place to stop for a bite! I had their famous pork tenderloin, and it did not disappoint. Their homemade pies are delishes as well!!!
I had prime rib, potato salad, and a side salad. Everything was perfect. Mom is in the hospital so we had her little dog with us, but we were able to eat at a picnic table in a nearby (well kept) park. One of the staff helped us carry food over there. I didn't take any pictures, but the food really was very good. Homemade (?), real buns. Everyone was happy with the food. It's on a paved, but little bit rough (needs resurfacing) bike trail.

When in Hamlin, you have to swing by this family restaurant that has The BEST Pork Tenderloin Sandwich.... EVER!!!!!

Very tasty food, they’re known for their pork tenderloin sandwich which is delicious! They have 1919 rootbeer!! It’s the best rootbeer ever!
